My 14-year-old daughter got invited to a pool party at the end of the month that one of her best girlfriend's is throwing. There will be both boys and girls from her high school there and it sounds like it's going to be a lot of fun. But she refuses to go because she doesn't want to wear a bathing suit in front of her friends.
When she told me this I was horrified. She hasn't quite filled out in the chest yet, like some of the other girls her age, but she has absolutely nothing to be ashamed of! How do I reassure her and let her know that her body is perfect and she should never be embarrassed of the way she looks? I don't want to force her to go, but I don't want her to miss out because of self-esteem. Please help!
